Description

Discover the natural beauty and character of wool from our own Romney flock with White Clover, a traditional textured twill fabric woven from 100% British wool.

Rather than bleaching or artificially colouring the fibre, we celebrate the natural shades found within our flock. White Clover is woven from naturally cream Romney yarn, creating a warm and versatile cloth with subtle depth and texture.

The traditional twill construction gives the fabric a distinctive diagonal weave and a beautifully structured handle, making it suitable for a wide range of sewing and textile projects.

How is the fabric sold?

The full-width fabric is priced and sold by the metre. Select the required quantity according to the number of metres you wish to order

How wide is the fabric?

White Clover is approximately 158cm wide. Minor variation may occur as part of the weaving and finishing process.

Can I order a sample first?

Yes. A 10cm × 10cm sample is available for £3.50, allowing you to assess the colour, texture, weight and handle before ordering full metres.

Is the fabric made from your own wool?

Yes. White Clover is woven from 100% wool from our own Romney flock.

Has the fabric been dyed or bleached?

No. The warm cream shade is the natural colour of the wool. The fleece is neither artificially dyed nor bleached.

What type of weave is it?

White Clover has a traditional textured twill weave, recognised by its subtle diagonal structure.

What can I make with the fabric?

It can be used for suitable clothing, accessories, cushions, bags, textile crafts and other sewing projects requiring a substantial woven wool cloth. We recommend ordering a sample to assess whether its weight and drape suit your particular design.

Will the colour be exactly the same as the photographs?

Photography, lighting and screen settings can affect how the colour appears. Natural wool can also vary gently between production batches, so ordering a sample is recommended.

How should I wash the fabric?

Machine wash using a gentle wool cycle and an appropriate wool detergent. Line dry naturally and do not tumble dry. Avoid high heat and excessive agitation.

Should I wash the fabric before cutting it?

If the finished item will be washed, testing or pre-washing a sample first is sensible. This allows you to assess any change in dimensions, texture or appearance before cutting the main fabric.

Will several metres arrive as one continuous piece?

Multiple metres should be supplied as one continuous length wherever possible. If a continuous length is essential, please contact us before ordering so availability can be confirmed.

Is the fabric suitable for upholstery?

Suitability will depend on the particular project, expected wear and any applicable fire-safety requirements. Please request a sample and contact us before using it for upholstery or commercial furnishings.

Can cut fabric be returned?

Please check our current returns policy before ordering fabric cut to a requested length. We recommend purchasing a sample first if you are uncertain about the colour, texture or weight.
