Tawny is a warm, naturally brown twill fabric woven from 100% wool from our own Romney flock. Undyed and unbleached, this characterful British wool cloth is approximately 158cm wide and available by the metre or as a 10cm × 10cm sample.

Celebrate the naturally warm shades found within our Romney flock with Tawny, a traditional textured twill fabric woven from 100% British wool.
The rich brown colouring is created by carefully blending naturally coloured Romney fleeces. The wool is not bleached or artificially dyed, allowing the authentic shades and character of the fibre to remain central to the finished cloth.
Its traditional twill construction creates a subtle diagonal weave and a beautifully structured handle, making Tawny suitable for a wide variety of sewing, clothing and textile projects.

Because its colour is created by blending naturally coloured fleeces, gentle tonal variations may occur between production batches. These subtle differences are an authentic feature of natural wool rather than a fault.
We strongly recommend ordering a sample before purchasing a larger quantity. This allows you to assess the colour, weight, texture and drape in your own lighting and alongside any other materials intended for your project.
