Description

Fill your handmade projects with natural British wool from our Romney flock.

Our Romney fleece is professionally washed and carded before being processed into thousands of small wool balls. This preparation makes the fibre easier to distribute throughout a cushion, pillow, dog bed or suitable craft project.

Unlike light synthetic hollowfibre, Romney wool creates a substantial, supportive filling with a naturally weighty feel. The small wool balls can be added gradually, allowing you to adjust the firmness and fullness of your project.

Suitable for filling:

  • Cushions and cushion pads
  • Pillows
  • Dog and pet beds
  • Draft excluders
  • Leather goods
  • Dolls and suitable craft projects
  • Refillable soft furnishings

Product details:

  • British Romney wool
  • Washed and carded
  • Processed into small wool balls
  • Ready to use as filling
  • Undyed and unbleached
  • Available in 250g, 500g and 1kg packs
  • Scoured using organically certified ENCO 4061 detergent

  • Because this is a natural agricultural fibre, occasional small traces of vegetable matter may remain despite washing, carding and processing.

The wool may be compressed for delivery. Open the package carefully and gently tease apart the wool balls before filling your project. Add the stuffing a little at a time and distribute it evenly to achieve your preferred firmness.

Wool filling may settle or compress with use. Cushions and pillows with a zipped or refillable casing can be opened so the fibre can be teased, redistributed or topped up when required.

Please note that this is a craft and soft-furnishing filling. It has not been treated or certified for use as building insulation.
