Description

Give your cushions naturally plump, lasting comfort
Transform your favourite cushion covers with our British Romney Wool Inner Cushion Pads, filled entirely with wool from our own family flock.

Soft, plump and naturally supportive, these refillable cushion inners provide a comfortable and sustainable alternative to synthetic polyester or feather fillings. Their resilient wool filling helps each cushion retain its shape while remaining soft and comfortable enough to relax against.

Each cushion pad is enclosed in a quality cotton cambric cover with a zipped opening, allowing you to access, redistribute or replenish the wool whenever required.

Wool from our own Romney sheep
The filling is made using 100% wool from our own Romney sheep, raised on our family farm in Kent. Our family has farmed Romney sheep on the Romney Marsh for more than six generations, giving us complete traceability from our flock to your home.

The wool is processed and the cushion inners are made here in Britain, transforming a natural material from our farm into a useful, comfortable and long-lasting product.

The natural benefits of wool
Wool is naturally breathable, temperature regulating and resilient. Its ability to manage moisture helps the cushion remain fresh and comfortable, while its springy fibres provide natural support and recover their shape when shaken and plumped.

Wool is also naturally hypoallergenic and resistant to dust, mould and mildew, helping create a fresher alternative to many conventional cushion fillings.

Unlike synthetic polyester filling, wool is a naturally renewable and biodegradable fibre.

Refillable and adjustable
Every cushion inner has a zipped cotton cambric cover, giving you direct access to the wool filling.

You can:

  • Remove wool for a softer cushion
  • Add wool for a firmer, fuller cushion
  • Redistribute the filling to adjust its shape
  • Loosen and refluff the wool as it naturally settles
  • Remove the wool before washing the empty cover
  • Replenish the filling to extend the life of your cushion
  • This refillable construction makes the inner easier to maintain and reduces the need to replace the
  • complete cushion pad when the filling settles.

Choosing the correct size
For a beautifully full and plump finish, we recommend selecting a cushion inner approximately 5cm larger than your cushion cover.  A slightly larger inner fills the corners more effectively and creates a fuller, more supportive cushion.

Bespoke cushion inners

We can make cushion pads in bespoke sizes for unusual, handmade or treasured cushion covers.

Please email info@romneymarshwools.co.uk or telephone 01233 721800 with the required dimensions. Bespoke cushion inners can take up to 10 working days to make before dispatch.

Caring for your cushion pad
Shake and plump your cushion regularly to redistribute the filling and maintain its shape. Wool fibres naturally settle and compress with use, but the zipped cover allows you to loosen and refluff them whenever required.

Remove all the wool before washing the empty cotton cambric cover. Follow the care label and ensure the cover is completely dry before returning the wool.

As wool is a natural material, it may initially have a gentle wool scent. This is normal and will usually soften with airing and use. Fresh air and sunlight provide a natural way to refresh the wool.

These are good cushions that are just the right combination of firm and yielding, in my view.

Corinna

Really like this company! They responded quickly and helpfully when I first contacted them with questions. The cushion pads are really nice quality and plump up well and although firm enough to hold their shape are soft and comfortable to lay on.

Helen

My only regret is that I didn't discover the woolly cushion insets sooner. I'm gradually replacing every cushion in the house with them.. and I have a lot of cushions! I can't recommend them enough.

Wendy

I bought some of the wool cushions a few years ago, and they are still going strong. I have taken out the wool stuffing, washed the outer covers several times and put them back together, and they are always as good as new. I love the fact that this is a British product, made from a natural material, and that wool has great qualities in itself. What could be better!

Helen Dearden

Somewhat worrying that I have been asked to review products when I have received NOTHING as yet!
