How is Blackthorn fabric sold?
The full-width fabric is priced and sold by the metre. Select the required quantity according to the number of metres you wish to order.

Blackthorn is a rich, naturally dark brown twill fabric woven from 100% wool from our own Romney flock. Undyed and unbleached, this substantial British wool cloth is approximately 158cm wide and available by the metre or as a 10cm × 10cm sample.

Celebrate the rich natural shades found within our Romney flock with Blackthorn, a traditional textured twill fabric woven from 100% British wool.
Its deep brown colour is created by carefully blending naturally coloured Romney fleeces. The wool is not artificially dyed or bleached, allowing the authentic colour and character of the fibre to define the finished cloth.
The traditional twill construction creates a subtle diagonal weave and a structured handle, making Blackthorn a versatile choice for clothing, accessories and creative textile projects.
Product details:
Because the colour is achieved using naturally coloured fleece, gentle tonal variations may occur between production batches. These differences are part of the fabric’s authentic character rather than faults.
We strongly recommend ordering a sample before purchasing a larger quantity. This allows you to assess the colour, weight, texture and drape in your own lighting and alongside any linings or other materials intended for your project.
The full-width fabric costs £55 per metre. The sample measures approximately 10cm × 10cm and costs £3.50.
