Keep your feet naturally warm with our handmade British Romney Wool Walking Buddies.

Made in the UK by Spinning Earth using Pure British Romney wool from Romney Marsh Wools, these substantial wool socks are designed to provide a cosy additional layer for walking, outdoor activities and cold-weather wear.

Each pair is knitted on a hand-operated knitting loom approximately one-third larger than its intended finished size. The socks then undergo a carefully controlled felting process, creating a denser fabric with added strength, structure and durability.

Romney wool has a naturally robust character and is valued for its warmth and hardwearing qualities. Its breathable fibres can also help manage moisture while the socks are being worn.

The felted construction may feel firm when the socks are first worn, particularly around the opening. With use, the wool will relax and begin to mould naturally to the shape of your feet.

When wearing Walking Buddies inside walking boots, ensure there is sufficient room for the thicker wool layer without restricting your feet or circulation.

Sizing is approximate. UK size 7 falls within both the Small and Medium options: choose Small for a closer fit or Medium for a roomier fit.

Romney wool has a more robust and traditional texture than fine Merino wool. Customers with sensitive skin may prefer to wear the Walking Buddies over a thinner base sock.

These socks do not have a waterproof or rigid sole and are designed to be worn inside suitable footwear or as warm indoor socks.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Hand wash in cool water at a maximum temperature of 30°C using a wool-friendly detergent.

Alternatively, machine wash on a gentle wool cycle at 30°C with a low spin, ideally inside a delicates bag.

Reshape while damp and dry flat away from direct heat or sunlight. Do not tumble dry or bleach.

Further heat, friction or agitation may cause additional felting and shrinkage.
