This whole Romney fleece was awarded Reserve Champion Fleece at the 2026 Kent County Show. Its long staple, defined crimp and lustrous cream-white colour showcase the qualities that make Romney wool such a pleasure to work with. Romney Marsh Wools

Hand-skirted and kept as a whole fleece, it gives you the freedom to explore different parts of the wool and prepare it to suit your preferred spinning method. It arrives raw and unwashed, so it will need sorting, washing and preparation before spinning.

At approximately 3.5kg, this is an individual, award-winning fleece for a spinner looking for something with a story as well as beautiful fibre. The fleece shown is the one available; once sold, it cannot be replaced like for like.

Care and preparation note
This is raw wool. Open and inspect the fleece before washing, removing any remaining vegetable matter or sections you do not wish to use. Wash gently in batches with a suitable wool wash, avoiding agitation and sudden temperature changes, then dry thoroughly before carding, combing or spinning. As a natural raw fleece, some variation and traces of vegetable matter are to be expected.
