Our CHRISTMAS Food & Craft Festival is on Sunday, 11 December, 11am - 2pm in Elham Square and St Mary’s Church, so please put the date in your diaries. Not least because we have a sizzling line up for you, with donkeys Dorothy and Della in all their festive finery and Santa, who takes a break from his world tour in December to join us, dispensing gifts from his cosy vintage Shepherd’s hut. The scents of Christmas pervade the Square with aromatic mulled wine and sizzling hog roast at the Kings Arms, warming soups from the Chancel Café in the Church and chestnuts roasting over an open fire from the community stall. Lots of traders have already signed up so it promises to be a fantastic fiesta for all the family.
The market offers a selection of locally produced fruit and vegetables (some organic), eggs, cheese, fresh meat (organic), game, bread, cakes and pies, honey, jams, pickles, and wine. This selection varies according to season and availability. We also have lots of great traders lined up selling a variety of cheeses, olives and samosas, Kentish Cobnuts, jams and preserves, pies, cakes, vegetarian and vegan fare, herb butters, as well as garden plants and shrubs and handmade crafts and gifts.
The Chancel Cafe in the Church will be selling delicious soups and sandwiches, teas, coffees and soft drinks.
