The Friends of Dulwich College Christmas Fair 2014
Sunday 30 November 2014
10.30 am to 4pm
As ever, the stunning school buildings will be transformed into a truly festive scene and we anticipate that again visitors will flock to the College in their thousands. With 150 fabulous stalls, the Fair has become a one-stop Christmas shopping day, with vendors travelling from as far away as Northumberland , Wales, and even Paris to sell their wares and the festivities will take place both inside and out. But it is also so much more than a gift shopping opportunity.....This year we are planning to expand our hugely popular Food Hall which offers mouth-watering seasonal fare. Plus an extended catering courtyard will again serve hot food, mulled wine and tasty goodies freshly cooked by our high quality caterers, and as ever, our café will be brimming with wonderful home baked treats in a fabulous setting created by our Junior School team. There will be the ever popular annual raffle with amazing prizes donated by parents, friends, staff and local businesses, with profits going to our lead chosen charity of the year – Kingfishers – raising money for the children’s wards of Kings College Hospital.
Festive entertainment from our music department and the skills of the magic & juggling teams always add to the festive atmosphere whilst the Fun Zone run by our Lower School boys who donate directly to their own chosen charities, is a great destination for the younger visitors. Little eyes will light up to see Santa and his elves in his workshop, or by posing in our pop up ‘North Pole’ for photos that would grace any family Christmas card. DC boys of all ages will join in the spirit of the day with fund raising tents and there will be a staff rugby match which provides much entertainment for our boys and visitors plus raises further money for charity.
Proceeds of the Fair overall will mean that we can give a further sum to Kingfishers plus to a charity close to the heart of the College, Athol House our local Leonard Cheshire Home.
We do hope that you will be able to join us on the day – bringing some fine weather if you can!
