New Romney Country Fayre
SATURDAY 26TH JULY 2014
20TH ANNIVERSARY From 10.15am to 5.00pm
In 2014 we will be celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Fayre. The volunteer organising committee are already working hard to ensure it's an event to remember.
The New Romney Country Fayre is an annual event held on St Martin's Field and the Fairfield Road Recreation Ground in New Romney. It is the largest free event on Romney Marsh and is a true community event attracting over 7,000 visitors from all over the south east of England. The original Committee was formed in 1994 with the first Fayre taking place the following year. Since then it has grown into a massive event and has helped to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for local organisations and charities who take part.
A highlight of the day is the vibrant and colourful parade trhough the High Street to St Martin's Field for the Official Opening. A programme of all-day entertainment in two arenas then follows.
In 2014 we will again be working in partnership with the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway to run special trains on Country Fayre Day to arrive in New Romney in time to watch the Parade. For more information on the RHDR, Special Fares and Timetables visit their website: www.rhdr.org.uk
