The New Romney Country Fayre Saturday, 27th July 2013 For visitors travelling to the Fayre please use the following Post Code for your Sat Nav:  TN28 8AT  You will arrive at the High Street and the field used for the Fayre is behind the shops in a northerly direction. The New Romney Country Fayre is held on St Martin's Field and the Fairfield Road Recreation Ground in New Romney, which is just off the High Street. It is the largest free event on Romney Marsh, attracting over 7,000 visitors from all over the south east of England. The original Committee was formed in 1994 with the first Fayre taking place the following year and since then it has grown into a massive event and has helped to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for local organisations and charities who take part. For map please see Contact Us The day will start as usual with a noisy and colourful parade through the High Street, finishing at St Martin's Field where the Official Opening of the Fayre will take place, along with the presentation of prizes for best parade entries. A free car park for the Fayre is situated in Ashford Road and this will be signed from the High Street and from the Ivychurch direction. We are again working in partnership with the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway and two special trains will run on Country Fayre day from Hythe at 9.30am and from Dungeness at 9.10am calling at Romney Sands at 9.30am to arrive in New Romney in time for the Parade, which starts at 10.15am..  Special fares will apply on these two trains.  So leave your car at home and have no worries about where to park.  A ride on the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway will add to your enjoyment of the Fayre.  For more information on the RHDR and Timetables visit their website:  www.rhdr.org.uk     For further information on New Romney and Romney Marsh visit:  www.theromneymarsh.net  .   Country Fayre Committee with the "Olympic Flame" in 2012  Photo Shoot 2012
