The Heathfield & District Agricultural Show is proud to be able to announce that they have made it through to the finals of the Farmers’ Guardian Favourite Show competition. With over 90 entries competing for this accolade up and down the country, the Heathfield Show is through to the final eight. The final decision is made by the voting public, which took place on line last week. A panel of 3 judges make the ultimate decision of which Show will become the Farmers’ Guardian Favourite Show for 2013 and the winner will be announced this coming Friday 29th March.   The Monster Trucks Will Be Returning. The ever popular Monster Trucks have agreed to once more visit the Heathfield Show in 2013.   The AEG Mobile Training Academy partners up with guest chefs and kitchen experts for the 2013 Heathfield Show.   New For 2013:The Women’s Institute Marquee. THEME: Land Girls, Make do and Mend Following the recent resurgence of traditional activities and all things “vintage” we felt this would work well as the theme for WI tent. Demonstrations: Crochet and knitting demo, Brush up on skills or learn the basics of knitting/crochet, Mini-projects to take home (eg. crocheted flower ), 1940’s hairstyles, Demonstrations on how to do vintage hairstyles, Wartime/ Women’s Land Army info/posters. Rag rugs/patchworking, Make do and Mend ideas, Baking and photography, Homemade cakes for sale. The marquee will be run entirely by volunteers from EridgeWI and ESFWI.   Education Area - Sponsored By Tottingworth Farm And Creaseys LLP The area, sponsored by Tottingworth Farm, host to the Heathfield Show, and Creaseys LLP, is designed to educate and inform children and adults alike, about the provenance of meat and the important part farming plays in delivering food to our tables. Not only will the area have a display of farm animals - examples of different breeds of cattle with their calves, a ewe and lamb - but it will have a ‘hands on’ corner for children which will include the new addition to the Tottingworth herd – a manual milking cow! Take the opportunity to enter the competition to name this cow and win a free membership to the Heathfield Show for 2013. Tottingworth Farm will also have their farm shop set up in this area so visitors will be able to taste and purchase the products of the Farm.   The Show Saturday 25th May 2013, showground will open from 8am to 5pm at Little Tottingworth Farm, Broad Oak, Heathfield, East Sussex Come and join us for the country atmosphere of Sussex. Showing Classes - Sheep, Cattle, Pigs And Horses The Heathfield Show has long had a reputation for the size and quality of its showing classes. The Schedule of competitions will be released in early February 2013 with the closing date for entries on 9th April 2013. Flower Show – Sponsored By Swindells LLP Every year the Heathfield Show hosts a Flower Show. A theme is set and this competitors are asked to enter arrangements under various. There are classes for professionals and novices, men and women and also children. For more details and entry forms click here Vintage Tractors In the Vintage Tractor section you will find a huge selection of tractors. Some tractors have been restored to their former glory and some you will find in their original 'working clothes'. Each tractor is as individual as its owner and on many you will find a tale of their history and how they have come to be where they are today. The Vintage Tractors parade both in the Country Ways ring and in the main ring during show day and our knowledgeable commentator, Bernard Pike, will tell you a bit about each tractor that is in the parade. Our tractor display is not only for large tractors, we often have a good selection of smaller horticultural tractors that you will find are driven by our younger exhibitors.
