Romney Marsh Wools 10th Anniversary Farm Open Day

Published: 30/01/2018

We will be opening our farm gates on Sunday 25th March 2018 for the first annual open day in celebration of our 10th anniversary!

We have been farming on the Romney Marsh for at least 6 generations and today have a flock of 1,000 Romney ewes as well as a small flock of Merinos. The fleeces from both are used to create Romney Marsh Wools' range of products.

Lambing takes place from mid-February and there will be the opportunity to meet the lambs as well as find out more about the sheep and life on the farm. There will be Kentish crafts, food & drink available on the day from some specially selected producers plus activities for children of all ages, including the chance to have your photo taken in a tractor and face painting.

Kristina Boulden, who set up Romney Marsh Wools in 2008, commented We are really excited to be opening the farm for our first open day. There is a lot of hard work which goes on behind the scenes and with lambing in full swing, there will be lots for visitors to see & do, with a great opportunity to find out more about our family farm and the history of our Romney sheep.'

The open day will run from 11am ' 4pm on Sunday 25th March 2018 at Rushfield, Giggers Green Road, Aldington, Kent TN25 7BT. Admission is free of charge.

Please note, no dogs will be allowed on site (except guide/assistance dogs) due to livestock.
